What you need to travel to a festival in Europe from Mexico

Traveling from Mexico to a festival in Europe isn't complicated, but there are a few requirements worth sorting out ahead of time — especially if this is your first trip into the Schengen area.

Passport: it needs at least six months of validity remaining from your return date. If yours is expiring soon, start the renewal before booking flights, since Mexico's foreign ministry (SRE) can take several weeks during high season.

Visa: as a Mexican citizen, you don't need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days within the Schengen area (where most of the festivals we operate are located: the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, and others). Entry requirements can still change — confirm current rules on the official embassy or consulate website for your destination before you leave.

Travel insurance: not mandatory for Mexicans in the Schengen area, but strongly recommended. Good coverage handles medical expenses, cancellations, and lost luggage — the cost is usually minor compared to the rest of the trip.

Plugs and voltage: Europe uses type C or F outlets (depending on the country) at 220-230V, different from Mexico's type A/B at 127V. Bring a universal adapter; most phone and camera chargers already handle both voltages, but it's worth checking yours.

Money: most of the countries we operate in use the euro or Swiss franc. International cards work widely, but it's a good idea to carry some cash for local transport, tips, or card-free vendors.

Pack for two climates: the festival itself (which can be sunny and warm during the day) and the city or transfers (usually cooler, especially on European nights). Light layers work better than one heavy jacket.
